Game 11 vs Fart Museum - 6/20/06

Yet another tough week for fielding full teams. I spent the majority of Monday the 19th looking for a few non-roster peoples to fill in some slots. About 4 pm I thought I was pretty sure we had enough to at least play. It turns out even with some help (2 education part-timers showed up, graciously) we were still 1 short of being legal. We only had 5 teamers plus the 2 for a total of 7. Since X-Comm had like 20 people there, most of us stuck around and evened up some "teams" and played a full 7-inning "scrimmage", which in the end seemed a little stupid. Oh well.

We had a decent lineup for Tuesday vs Art Museum but played with only 9 in the field again. Started off great, got 5 runs in the first, had a 6-3 lead after 2. Todd hit a 2-run bomb in the 1st for his 4th straight game with a home run. Then we got blanked in the 3rd, 4th & 5th innings. Then they somehow managed to roll off 9 runs of their own in the 4th. Todd would most likely like to forget that inning. We woke up again and scored 7 in the last two innings (5 valiantly in the bottom of the last) but still came up 4 runs short, leaving 2 stranded and the tying run on deck. Art Museum also played the night before and won (against Constitution) so they are no longer in the cellar - we are. We can pull ourselves out of there with a win next week and could quite easily finish in 5th if we can also beat Daily News in the next game. We finish the season against PBJ and that will be tougher. Hope to see you there.
