My post to Nancies:
Honestly, I was only pleasantly surprised to hear R & R.
And, I have witnesses, I called Seek Up, Billies, and #41. Right before
they were played, the name came out of my mouth. Nothing wrong
with those tunes, mind you...Seek up is a favorite, 41 was crazy cooky,
and Billies is groovy...but damn, predictability is a bad thing, IMHO.
I thought the jams were intense. But a one song encore? and
I believe I saw more of Bela Fleck than any member of DMB.
I can only take so much banjo... (
I loved the show. Really, I did. But I really was hoping for something
other than a banjo-jammed out version of every song I heard my last two shows.
I was sooooooooo hyped up about this show, and I think my expectations were not met and thus I was a little disappointed. The whole weekend was a freaky experience though, traveling from Indiana to the Atlantic Ocean in a Plymouth Horizon that broke down a zillion times... meeting up with a billion nancies, chillin' in Ch'ville after the show, seeing Agents for the first time, blah blah blah blah blah.... :-)
